Referred material.
CUF - NKNY - B 26 (112 shells; Figs 12 N View Figure 12 , 16 E View Figure 16 ).
Habitat.
Mostly present in intertidal zones, estuarine and brackish habitats ( Huber 2015).
Distribution.
This genus is mostly distributed in the Indian Ocean and Indo-West Pacific, except for the species Potamocorbula adusta ( Reeve, 1844) , which is recorded only from West Africa ( Huber 2015).
Taxonomic remarks and comparisons.
These specimens are assigned to Potamocorbula based on the descriptions in Coan (2002), specifically in having smooth shells. Currently, there are a total of nine species in this genus ( Huber 2015; MolluscaBase 2023), in which two species, P. fasciata (Reeve, 1843) and P. laevis ( Hinds, 1843) , are recorded from Thailand ( Wells et al. 2021). However, our specimens have a more quadrate shell shape, probably suggesting the presence of other different species.
