Diagnosis. Atholus torquatus is distinguished by the combination of several characters: interrupted lateral pronotal stria, hamate on the apical end; absence of pronotal foveae near anterolateral angle and punctation on the basal half of pygidium, but becoming finer towards the apex.
Distribution. India, Nepal and China: Sichuan, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines and Indonesia: Greater Sunda (Sumatra, Java and Borneo Islands) ( Fig. 11C View Fig ).
Remark. Two of the seven examined specimens exhibit the presence of the external subhumeral stria, an individual variability already pointed out by dela Cruz and Ôhara (2023a).
