Copepoda

We found little literature concerned with inland copepods from the Virgin Islands. Mesocyclops aspericornis (Daday, 1906) is reported from ‘The Virgin Islands’, and from St. John the saline lake species Cletocamptus dominicanus Kiefer, 1934 and the endemic Cletocamptus tainoi Gómez et al., 2017 are more recent discoveries ( Gutiérrez-Aguirre et al. 2002; Gómez et al. 2017). We collected freshwater copepods from three localities, all on St. Thomas. All appear to belong to the Harpacticoida , but all need to be examined by experts.
