This mesoveliid water strider is reported from Cuba, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and some of the Lesser Antilles, as well as being widespread through the Americas ( de Kort-Gommer and Nieser 1969; Naranjo et al. 2010; Lanigan and Hyslop 2011). We present the first records of this species from the Virgin Islands; it was found on St. Thomas in ghuts, ponds, and mangrove brackish pools and streams, although not as abundant as the following species.
