Protoneura viridis (Westfall, 1964) View in CoL
This member of the Protoneuridae is well known in the Caribbean; described initially from St. John, with records from St. Thomas, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Puerto Rico ( Donnelly 2002; von Ellenrieder and Garrison 2017; Ramírez et al. 2020). We found adults of this species in deeply shaded areas along Dorothea, Neltjeberg, Turpentine Run, Spring, and Flamboyan ghuts on St. Thomas. Donnelly (2002) reports it from St. Thomas from Turpentine Run ghut and from St. John at the L’Esperance Spring, which is also the type locality. Whitehouse (1939) gives a record from Envy Ghut, near Cruz Bay on St. John.
