Distribution in Canada and Alaska.
NB (New Canadian record). See comments above regarding Carpelimus spretus and the Palaearctic Carpelimus rivularis . Downie and Arnett (1996) cited Carpelimus spretus as a valid species with the type localities (MD, NC, and PA). Ulke (1902) recorded Carpelimus spretus from DC.
Natural history.
Carpelimus spretus were collected along river margins in NB. Adults were typically found among cobblestones near water’s edge. Adults were collected in June and August.
