Material examined. Holotype ♂: COLOMBIA, NW Sierra N[evada] de Santa Marta , 4[000]–8000 f [ee]t, 20.VII.[19]28, [P. J.] Darlington [Jr.] col. ( MCZH, # 30806 ).

Diagnosis. MALE ( Fig. 136 View FIGURES 132 – 143. 132 – 135 ). Black. Mandible with five apical teeth ( Fig. 137 View FIGURES 132 – 143. 132 – 135 ). Clypeus with angulate median lobe. Antennal scrobe wholly carinate. Frons weakly coriaceous. Vertex convex. Pronotal disc with anterior corner angulate; anterior carina sharp, arched backward medially and forward laterally; median carina absent; lateral margin sharp; posterior margin not paralleled by foveae; side of disc with ventral margin carinate. Scutellar pit transverse. Mesopleuron with subtegular groove bifurcated anteriorly; anterior fovea subtriangular; upper fovea subtriangular; lower fovea with upper margin and median part of lower margin absent ( Fig. 138 View FIGURES 132 – 143. 132 – 135 ). Genitalia ( Figs 139, 140 View FIGURES 132 – 143. 132 – 135 ): paramere wide, apical margin inclined and blunt, inserted dorsally into basiparamere and below its apex, base narrow; cuspis deeply divided into two arms subequal; longer than digitus and shorter than paramere; aedeagus bottle-shaped, apex surpassing apex cuspis, ventral surface with conspicuous projection ventrad; base of apodeme very dilated. FEMALE unknown.
