Acherontacarus fonticolus K.Viets, 1934 Records from the study area: Montenegro: K. Viets (1934b, 1935a), Gerecke & Benfatti (2005). Habitat: Rheocrenic spring.

Distribution: Balkan, only known from the type locality (Berane).

Records from the study area: Macedonia: K. Viets (1932c, 1935a), Gerecke & Benfatti (2005).

Habitat: Subterranean waters (10–12 m deep well).

Distribution: Balkan, only known from the type locality (Skoplje).

Records from the study area: Greece: Gerecke & Benfatti (2005).

Habitat: Sandy riparian springs of a mountain stream.

Distribution: Balkan, only known from the type localities in the Peloponnese (Achaia, Ipiros).
