Lectotype (Wijnands, Bot. Commelins: 152. 1983): Browne, Herb. Linn. No. 1228.14 (LINN).

Current name: Neptunia plena (L.) Benth. ( Fabaceae : Mimosoideae ).

Note: Fawcett & Rendle (Fl. Jamaica 4: 131. 1920) noted the existence of what is evidently 1228.14 (LINN) but did not indicate it as the type.
