Type material. Holotype: South Africa, Zululand , Eshowe [ NHMUK].
Diagnosis. Elongated species, 1.6–2.0 mm long, 2.7–2.9 × as long as wide; colour dark brown or black; female frons flattened to very lightly concave, surface covered by densely placed, soft setae as long as the funiculus; scapus triangular, with a broad split tuft of setae as long as those in frons; antennal club with two clearly marked procurved sutures; seta on elytral interstria spatulate, densely placed in regular rows except interstriae 1, separated within rows by half the length of a seta.
Distribution. South Africa.

Remarks. All new collections were made from dead, hanging lianas, in forests around Knysna. Only male-female pairs were observed, and the male tend to leave the gallery at early larval stage.
