Materials examined. 14 individuals; Stations Vas. 4(1), 14(2), 33(3), 36(2), 39(2), 40(2), 41(2).

Distribution. Mediterranean ( Bellan-Santini & Ruffo 2003). The species was reported from Cyprus by Hadjichristophorou et al. (1997), Kocatas et al. (2001) and Christodoulou et al. (2013). In Vasiliko Bay (current study), it is considered as a rare species (FI: 16.66 %).

Ecology. Lysianassa longicornis was found in association with algae, seagrasses and on rocks and stones at 3–187 m depth ( Kocatas et al. 2001; Christodoulou et al. 2013). In Vasiliko Bay it was found at depths of 17–55 m (37 + 13 m), in muddy sand substrate and also sandy substrates with organic matter ranging between 6.024 –11.119 % (8.141 + 1.814 %) and in association with C. prolifera , C. cylindracea and H. stipulacea . It was found in stations classified according to the Bentix Index as in: “high” (1 station, 2 individuals), “good” (2 stations, 3 individuals) and “moderate” (4 stations, 9 individuals). It was recorded at a fish farm station (2 individuals).
