( Figs 9 View FIGURE 9 C, 10V –W)

Plecochilus dalmasi Dautzenberg 1900: 151 , pl. 9 fig. 1. No type locality given. Lectotype RBINS/MT668 ( Breure 2011). Plekocheilus dalmsi [sic] Dautzenberg; Richardson 1995: 308 (references).

Material.?Magdalena/La Guajira, Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, leg./1896: RBINS; Boyacá, km 61.5 road Soacha–La Punta, 6 km E Los Pinos, Alto de Granados, Páramo de Pisva [sic, Pisba], 3620 m, Cleef leg./ 14.vi.1972: RMNH.

Remarks. Breure (1978) located the type material, of which one specimen is figured here. The specimen from Páramo de Pisba is tentatively referred to this species. This locality forms part of the Cocuy area, which is known for its endemics (see also Breure 2008) and is phytogeographically related to the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta (Cleef, pers. comm.). The single shell in the lot from Páramo de Pisba (RMNH) lacks the upper whorls (due to fracture) and shows traces of oblique chestnut-brown color streaks on a golden-brown ground color. The white lip is characteristic in all material examined.
