Identification. The Central American Squirrel Monkey is a small primate easily distinguished from other primate species by its black cap, white face, and orangebrown fur. It does not have a prehensile tail and will often travel in groups of between 20 and 70 individuals ( Wainwright and Arias 2007). This species is not easily confused with other primate species in the region.
