Remarks. The original description of this species shows the absence of z2, and the insertion of R1 and R2 on the dorsal shield. These features are not expected for Lasioseius species. This interpretation could be incorrect, given that the description was based only on the holotype, which may not have allowed a precise determination of those characters. In addition, the original description shows the dorsal shield smooth, which seems rare for species of this group. However, given that the authors show the ventrianal shield reticulate, we assume the lack of ornamentation of the dorsal shield to be correct (although unusual for Lasioseius ). In the description of the male of this species, Ma & Lin (2007) also showed the presence of z2 and either what seems to be R1 or R2 off the shield (the other of those two setae is illustrated on the shield). In a personal communication, L.M. Ma (who reported both females and males of this species; Ma & Lin, 2007) informed us of the actual absence of z2 and the fact that R1 and R2 can be found on or off the dorsal shield. Thus, these features need to be confirmed.
