[ BRAZIL]: region of Minas Gerais bordering the northeastern portion of Sâo Paulo and the northeastern region of Sâo Paulo [Table 1] ( Barretto & Carvalheiro 1967); ( Sick 2001).
Note: Barretto & Carvalheiro (1967) inferred that these larvae were detritivores. Sick (2001) talked about sarcophagid flies of the nidicolous fauna of A. annumbi and P. rufifrons in nests from Minas Gerais and Pernambuco, presumably taking data from Barretto & Carvalheiro (1967). The interpretation of Sick (2001) of those larvae as being cadaveric was likely due to the mention of dead chicks by Barretto & Carvalheiro (1967). It is probable that these larvae belonged to a species of Philornis that pupate in the bed of the nest and some infested chick was killed by the parasitic load.

PARAGUAY: Paraguayan Chaco, low frequency in nests infested by triatomines (p <0.05) suggests a predating behavior of the latter (González et al. 2000).
