Type:— PERU. Huánuco: Cumbre Carpish , 2183 m, 25 December 2002, D. Trujillo 78 (holotype: HURP!)
Distribution:— Peru, currently known only for the department of Huánuco.
Notes:— Epidendrum carpishense is morphologically similar to E. obliquum , but is distinguished by having nonresupinate flowers, 3–4 (vs. resupinate, 4–6), the lip with a truncated apex with an irregular margin, 3.5 × 5.5 mm (vs. apex emarginate, 4.6 × 8 mm), the column arched, constricted in the middle, 4.5 mm long (vs. thin, straight, 7 mm long), and the ovary strongly inflated ventrally from the middle of the column to behind the perianth, 15 mm long (vs. somewhat inflated 10–15 mm long).
Conservation Status:— DD. Data deficient.
