( Figs. 12 View FIGURES 11–16 , 19 View FIGURES 17–20 , 21, 22 View FIGURES 21–24 , 27 View FIGURES 24–30 )
Craniophora tapaishana Draudt, 1950 , Mitteilungen der Münchener Entomologischen Gesellshaft, 40(1): 6, Pl. 1:17; genit.: Pl. X: 3. Type material examined reported: "Tai-pei-shan. Flugzeit vom 26. VI– 2. IX. 1935 ".
Material examined. Lectotype. Male lectotype (designated herein to stablize usage of the name, preserved in ZFMK), indicated as " Holotype ", " Tapaishan im Tsiling Sued -Shensi ( China) [Shaanxi]" 2.vii 1935 (H. Höne). Preparation No. Hö 156 Ch. Boursin . Paralectotypes: f, " Allotype ", same locality and collector, 2.vii 1935 . Non-type material: 6 males, 4 females, same locality, 2.vii, 31.vi, 22.vi, 26.vii, 27.vi, 25.vi; 26. vi, 25. v, 2.vii. 1934 , 1936; 12 males, 1 female, " Mienshan (prov. Shansi) [Shanxi] Obere Hohe ca 2000 m ", 12, 15, 17, 30. vii 1937 .
Diagnosis. Adult ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 11–16 ). Externally C. tapaishana differs from its sister species C. simillima by a more brownish tint to the forewing and hindwing, greyish in the female. It is also externally similar to C. pacifica Filipjev, 1927 . The external male genitalia ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 21–24 ) are similar to C. simillima , are somewhat larger. The species differs well by shape and armature of vesica. It is tube-like, long, about 2 times longer than aedeagus, curved and somewhat broadened in the arch. It is armed with a patch of small pin-like cornuti which are weaker than those in C. simillima and by field of small setae-like cornuti near apex. In the female genitalia ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 24–30 ), ovipositor short, quadrangular; apophyses anteriores and posteriores ones equal in length; antrum membranous, funnel-like; ductus bursae heavily sclerotised; posterion two thirds straight, anterior third bent knee-like, broadened in joining with corpus bursae; corpus bursae elongate, membranous. Shape of corpus bursae in C. tapaishana is similar to that C. ligustri , the former differs by thinner and less curved ductus.
Distribution. ( Fig. 32 View FIGURES 31–32 ). China (Shaanxi).
