COMMON NAME (S): Geometrician, Geometrical Lines.
SYNONYM(S): Noctua ammonia Cramer, 1780 ; Grammodes orientalis Warren, 1913b .
IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).
DISTRIBUTION: Botswana, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Namibia , Nigeria, Sao Tome & Principe, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Lusaka , in Lusaka Province.
LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Host plants include yet to be indentified Cistaceae species (i.e. Cistus sp. ) and Polygonaceae species ( Polygonum sp. ) ( Pinhey, 1975). Two Polygonaceae species ( Polygonum Persicaria and Oxygonum atriplicifolium Martelli. ), one Euphorbiaceae species ( Ricinus sp. ), one Poaceae species ( Zea mays L. ), one Rhamnaceae species ( Ziziphus mauritiana Lam. ) and one Cistaceae species ( Cistus salviifolius L.) are reported as larval foodplants of the taxon ( African Moths 2019).
