Nigeria, Oman, Réunion, Saint Helena, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Seychelles, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan,
Sudan, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Tanzania, Western Sahara, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Lusaka and Kafue in Lusaka Province. LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Host plants include: one Combretaceae species ( Terminalia catappa L.) in the Réunion ( Martiré & Rochat 2008); two Fabaceae species ( Bauhinia sp. and Tamarindus sp. ) in South Africa ( Pinhey 1975) ; one
Fabaceae species ( Afzelia africana Pers. ) in Ghana ( Wagner et al. 2008); and three Euphorbiaceae species
( Ricinus sp. , Euphorbia systyla Edgew. and Euphorbia sp. ), two Myrtaceae species ( Eucalyptus sp. and
Eucalyptus camaldulensis Dehnh. View in CoL ), one Fabaceae View in CoL species ( Lonchocarpus sp. ), one Convolvulaceae View in CoL species ( Ipomoea batatas View in CoL (L.) Lam.) and one Pinaceae View in CoL species ( Pinus radiata D.Don View in CoL ) in unnamed African country or countries ( Walsingham & Hampson 1896; Austara & Jones 1971; Hacker & Hausmann 2010).

The wasp species, Enicospilus betanimenus (Saussure) (Ichneumonidae) , is reported as a parasitoid of the taxon in Zambabwe ( Rousse & van Noort 2014).
