COMMON NAME (S): Savanna Hawkmoth, Hawklet Hawkmoth or Hawklet. SYNONYM(S): Sphingonaepiopsis gracilipes ( Wallengren, 1858) View in CoL . IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE). DISTRIBUTION: Angola, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of

Congo, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Somalia,

South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe. LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Lusaka, in Lusaka Province. LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Larval foodplants include one Rubiaceae species ( Galium sp. ) in Nigeria ( MacNulty 1970), another

( Oldenlandia affinis (Roem. & Schult.) DC. ) in Côte d’Ivoire ( Vuattoux et al. 1989) and another

( Kohautia caespitosa Schnizl. ) in an unnamed African country or countries ( Walsingham & Hampson

1896). Without specifying in which of the above-named countries they occur, the African Moths (2019)

website, on the other hand, lists the following seven Rubiaceae species as larval foodplants of this taxon:
