COMMON NAME (S): Common Bagworm or Edible Psychidae View in CoL (at least, in Zambia). SYNONYM(S): Eumeta moddermanni Heylaerts, 1888 View in CoL ; Clania pictipennis Strand, 1913c . IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE). DISTRIBUTION: Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Mozambique, Namibia View in CoL , Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia,
Zimbabwe.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Zambezi rapids in Ikelenge, north of Mwinilunga, in Northwestern Province. LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Host plants include: one Fabaceae species ( Cassia javanica L.), two Cupressaceae species ( Cupressus lusitanica and Cupressus sempervirens ) and one Euphorbiaceae species ( Sapium ellipticum (Hochst.)
Pax)) in Uganda. One Cupressaceae species ( Macrocarpa sp.), one Fabaceae species ( Acacia sp. ) and one
Anacardiaceae species ( Schinus mole L. ) in South Africa; one Sterculiaceae species, Theobroma cacao
L., in Nigeria; one Malvaceae species, Cola sp. , from Guinea; one Malvaceae species ( Gossypium sp. ),
one Anacardiaceae species ( Mangifera indica L.), one Rutaceae species ( Citrus sp. ), one Cupressaceae species ( Cupressus sp. ), one Casuarinaceae soecies ( Casuarina equisetifolia L.) and one Combretaceae species ( Guiera senegalensis J.F.Gmel. ) from elsewhere in Africa . No specific host plants for this taxon have been reported for Zambia.
