DISTRIBUTION: Angola, Australia (Queensland, Northern Territory), Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Greece, Guinea, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Kenya, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Maldives, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Philippines, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Mazabuka, in Southern Province.
LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Larval foodplants include one aquatic plant in the family Hydrocharitaceae ( Hydrilla verticillata (L.f.) Royle), one Euphorbiaceae species ( Cleistanthus sp. ) and four grass species in the family Poaceae (the crop plant Oryza sativa L. or rice and the grasses Panicum carinatum J. Presl. , Eragrostis sp. and Paspalum sp. ).
