Didineis Wesmael 1852 View in CoL
Didineis Wesmael 1852: 109 View in CoL . Type species: Alyson lunicornis of Vander Linden 1829 (= Pompilus lunicornis Fabricius 1798 View in CoL ), by monotypy.
The genus is closely related to the other two genera of the tribe Alyssontini View in CoL de Dalla Torre 1897: Alysson Panzer 1806 View in CoL and Analysson Krombein 1985 View in CoL , but differs in having the labrum truncate or slightly biemarginate apically (trilobate in Analysson View in CoL ), the clypeal median lobe tridentate (straight in Analysson View in CoL ), the inner eye margins nearly parallel (moderately converging toward the clypeus in Analysson View in CoL ), the forewing media diverging before cu-a (at or beyond cu-a in Alysson View in CoL ), the metapleuron much less than half as long as high (about half as long as high in Alysson View in CoL ), and metasomal tergum II without lateral pale spots (with two lateral pale spots in Alysson View in CoL ). For a key to genera of Alyssontini View in CoL see Nemkov & Lelej (2013).
