Type locality. Germany, Hamburg (“Habitat Hamburgi Dr. Schulz”).

Identity. Clepsis pallidana (Fabricius) ( Razowski 1979) View in CoL .

Remarks. This is a synonym established long ago by Werneburg (1864) that was out of use until Razowski (1979) introduced it in current literature (e.g., Brown 2005). The species was previously known by its junior synonym, Clepsis strigana (Hübner, 1799) .
