Diagnosis. This species can be distinguished from all other species in the C. thoracica speciesgroup by its distinctive pronotum, which is widest in the middle (widest point of the pronotum is in the anterior third in all other species). This is the only species in the group known from Hispaniola ( Haiti and Dominican Republic).

Length. 3.9–5.3 mm.

Distribution. Hispaniola ( Haiti, Dominican Republic: Provinces Pedernales, Barahona, La Altagracia).
