Type Locality: Uganda, Ruwenzori East, Mubuku Valley, 10,000 ft. (3,048 m).
Vernacular Names: Grant's Forest Shrew.

Distribution: Mountain forests of C (Dem. Rep. Congo, Uganda, Rwanda) and E Africa ( Kenya, Tanzania).
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: The isolated East African populations require a careful comparison with typical granti from the Rift Valley.
