Syntypes (several specimens, males and females, depository not given, in original description) in MNHN [in Jeannel, 1936, 1962, where he states males are unknown—in error, see Newton, 1998].

Type locality: “ Chile ”.

Distribution: Argentina: Neuquén and Río Negro Provinces; Chile: Aisén, Arauco, Cautín, Chiloé, Concepción ( pubescens ), Llanquihue ( pubescens ), Malleco, Ñuble ( pubescens ), Osorno, Palena, Talca (AFN, personal data), and Valdivia Provinces.

= Pelatonoma pubescens Jeannel, 1957: 52, 1962: 516 View in CoL (redescription); Salgado, 1992b: 173; Newton, 1998: 168 syn. (MNHN paratypes seen).? Holotype male [Note: We interpreted that the male Jeannel illustrated in figures is the holotype; he mentions several specimens, sex not given] in MEUC [MNNC in Jeannel, 1962; n° 1330 (SBP, personal data)]. Type locality: Frutillar, 41º08’ S, Llanquihue Province, Chile.
