Genus Karinapelates Salgado View in CoL

Karinapelates Salgado, 2015a: 86 View in CoL [declared as feminine gender (sic)]. Type species: Karinapelates lamellula View in CoL [sic] Salgado (orig. des.).

Distribution: Southern Chile.

Biology: Found on carrion and in forest leaf litter.

Note 1: Gender originally specified as feminine, but Pelates and other names ending in - pelates are evidently derived from the masculine Greek noun πελατης (neighbor) and thus have been correctly considered masculine ( ICZN, 1999: Art. 30.1.2). Karinapelates is thus here considered masculine.

Note 2: As “undescribed genus of Camiarinae ” ( Newton, 1985:191) and “Genus 1 Newton, undescribed” ( Peck et al., 1998a: 44)
