Chiliopelates Jeannel, 1964: 222 (as subgenus of Dasypelates ); Newton, 1998: 78, 167 (sensu novo, to generic status). Type species: Dasypelates pictus Jeannel (orig. des.).
= Dasypelates of Jeannel (sensu 1957, 1962) and other authors ( Type species Dasypelates gracilis subsequently established as senior synonym of type species of Pelatonoma , see under that genus below); Newton, 1998: 167 syn.
= Topaliola Hlisnikovský, 1964b: 311 ; Newton, 1998: 78, 167 syn. Type species: Topaliola crenulata Hlisnikovský (as Topalia crenulata ) (orig. des.).
= Topalia ; Hlisnikovský, 1964b: 312 (misspelling of Topaliola ; not Balogh and Csiszar [1963]); Newton, 1998: 78 syn.
Key: to species in Salgado, 2006: 97.
Distribution: Southern Chile, southwestern Argentina.
Biology: Some species attracted to carrion, but most occur on fungusy logs and in litter in forests.
