Holotype male in BMNH (n° 1937-724—Note: such numbers in BMNH refer generally just to a collecting lot, not creating unique identification for each type specimen; in this case, it refers to Coleoptera from Falkland Islands, including the whole type series of F. sphenisci (Jan Růžička, 2019, personal comm; Maxwell Barclay, 2020, personal comm.)).

Type locality: Kidney Island, Falkland Islands.

Distribution: Chile: Aisén, Cautín, Chiloé, Coihaique, Llanquihue, Malleco, Ñuble, Osorno, Palena, Quillota, Talca, and Valdivia Provinces; Falkland Islands.
