Holotype male in NHMW.

Type locality: “ Venezuela (Dr. Moritz col., 1858)”.

Distribution: Ecuador: Cotopaxi Province; “ Venezuela ”. Note: This species was misidentified as D. monilis Murray [1856] in Salgado, 2002a: 253 ( Ecuador: Cotopaxi Province: Otonga) ( Salgado, 2014b: 97).
