[not valid] in Thomson, 1859: 59 (as “ C. fuscus ”; not stated as taxonomic novelty; the species was not listed in original description; it is the senior synonym of the first species listed, but was not stated as such); Helops fuscus Panzer listed as type species (in error) in Hatch, 1928: 188.
= Sciodrepa Thomson, 1859: 60 View in CoL (not stated as taxonomic novelty); Jeannel, 1936: 340 syn. (not stated as taxonomic change). Type species: Catops alpinus Gyllenhal View in CoL (orig. des.); Catops fumatus Spence listed as type species (in error; maybe a designation, but not stated as such) in Hatch, 1928: 202.
= Lasiocatops Reitter, 1901: 47 (as subgenus of Catops View in CoL ); Hatch, 1928: 189 syn., 1933: 210 syn. (of Sciodrepa View in CoL , as subgenus). Type species: Catops alpinus Gyllenhal View in CoL (4 species in original description, one as “new”— hybridus Reitter, oertzeni Reitter, alpinus Gyllenhal View in CoL , alpinoides); des. in Jeannel, 1922: 44 (not stated as taxonomic change).
