(as brunneus View in CoL orcinus); Gnaspini, 1996: 539 (as brunnea View in CoL orcina View in CoL ); Gnaspini & Peck, 2001: 429 (assignment of A. brunnea View in CoL to group), 2019: 19, 20 ([probable] holotype seen [Note: Aedeagus tip and genital segment missing]; raised to species status; assignment to subgroup).

Holotype male in CBCV.

Type locality: Cueva de Camburales, Sierra de Coro, 1100 m, Uria, Falcón State, Venezuela.

Distribution: Venezuela: Falcón State: known only from type locality.
