Genus Adelopspeleon Salgado View in CoL

Adelopspeleon Salgado, 2012: 54 View in CoL [declared as masculine gender (sic)]. Type species: Adelopspeleon acuminatum Salgado View in CoL (orig. des.).

Note: Name originally stated as masculine, but here considered neuter, because it is based on the Greek noun “spelaion” (cave), following ICZN (1999: Art. 30.1.2). Actually, although Salgado declared the genus as masculine gender, he correctly used neuter gender for the type species name.

Distribution: Ecuador.

Biology: Unknown; probably carrion scavengers in forests; the only species known was collected in a cave (probably a troglophile, because no troglomorphisms were recorded).
