(Aglyptonotus); Matthews, 1887: 79 (as A. laevis , misidentification—see Note); Hatch, 1929b: 82 comb. (not stated as taxonomic change).

Syntypes (original description refers to Matthews, 1887: 79, who mentions “abundant species”, sex and depository not given) in BMNH [as in Peck et al., 1998a: 50].

Type locality (from Matthews, 1887: 79): Volcán de Chiriquí, [Chiriquí Province] Panama.

Distribution: Panama: Chiriquí Province.

Note: This species was misidentified as A. laevis LeConte [1853] in Matthews, 1887: 79 ( Panama: Volcán de Chiriquí) ( Champion, 1913: 67).
