( Aglyptus LeConte View in CoL , not Förster [1856]); Cockerell, 1906: 240 comb.; Champion, 1913: 65 (as Aglyptonotus View in CoL ); Peck & Cook, 2019: 79 (lectotype designation, redescription). No information about types in original description;

Lectotype male in BMNH (designated in Peck & Cook, 2019; additional nine specimens in same collection).

Type locality (lectotype): Guatemala City, Guatemala [several places in original description, undesignated: Guatemala: Quiché Mountains, Cerro Zunil, Capetillo, Guatemala city, Balheu].

Distribution: Guatemala: Guatemala, Quetzaltenango, Quiché, and Sacatepéquez Departments.
