Genus Burmascopus Viraktamath View in CoL
Type species. Idiocerus fasciolatus Distant , by original designation.
Diagnosis. Externally resembling species of the genera Amritodus and Idioscopus and differing from them in short and proximally stouter apophysis of style which is as long as anterior part basad of its articulation with connective. Aedeagus similar to that in Amritodus with very long preatrium and rather reduced dorsal apodeme but differs from Amritodus in not being S-shaped. From Idioscopus it differs in the absence of apical or subapical long processes on aedeagal shaft.
Remarks. Viraktamath (2007) has adequately described the genus. The genus contains one species from the Indian subcontinent and Xue et al. (2017) described a second species from Malaysia.
