Range: —Andes from Colombia to Bolivia (BE, LP, SC).
Ecology: —Fairly common; often a pioneer in disturbed ground, in humid and semideciduous forests, savannas, and grass pampas; 100–1500 m.
Notes: — Lycopodiella andicola differs from L. mathewsii (Hook.) Holub (Venezuelan Andes to northern Peru) by its smaller and more fragile stature. Lycopodiella mathewsii occurs at mid- to high-elevations, mainly on peaty and less rapidly drained soil, in low paramos and marshy places in the subparamo.
