Fidicina robini Boulard & Martinelli 1996: 38 View in CoL View Cited Treatment . (Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil)
REMARKS. Fidicina robini is a large species similar in size to F. ethelae with a wingspan greater than 125 mm and is larger than both F. mannifera and F. obscura . The species can be distinguished from the other Peruvian Fidicina by the male timbal cover not extending below the metascutellar plate, the male operculum has a rounded posterolateral extension, the fore femora proximal spine is angled while the secondary and apical spines are upright with respect to the femoral axis, and the lateral branch of the uncus recurves toward the midline under the aedeagus terminating in a point.
DISTRIBUTION. The species has been reported previously from Brazil and French Guiana ( Sanborn 2011a; 2013) with recent records expanding the distribution to include Bolivia ( Sanborn 2019b). The records provided here continue the westward expansion of the range of the species.
