It is native to the Canary Islands and Morocco ( Dobignard & Chatelain 2013), cultivated in Algeria and given as introduced in Tunisia ( Domina & al. 2010) and Poland ( Bulakh & al. 2022).

– New area record for this taxon, identified by SEM study of the seeds. The closest known location is in Poland ( Bulakh & al. 2022). In continental Ukraine, it is found in forests (Polissia), forest-steppe and steppe ( N Black Sea region ) zones. It is probably the most common microspecies of the Portulaca oleracea aggregate in the country.
