Type species. Umbodinia bella View in CoL , sp. nov., by present designation.

Gender. Feminine.

Etymology. The generic name derives from Latin umbo = rounded protuberance + the generic name Odinia , and refers to the shiny dark brown to black lobules located between the lunule and the margins of the eyes. The specific name derives from Latin bellus = beautiful.
