Genus Kuznetsovia nom. nov. (= Aenigma Kuznetsova, 1957 non Newman, 1836 [ Coleoptera ])

Type species: Kuznetsovia jucunda ( Kuznetsova, 1957) comb. nov. (= Aenigma jucunda Kuznetsova, 1957: 69 , tab. 5, figs 5a–c).

Stratum typicum: Lower Cretaceous (Barremian).

Locus typicus: Tegcaj, North-Eastern Azerbaijan.

Diagnosis: See Kuznetsova (1957: 68).

Etymology: In honour of Zoja Vasil’evna Kuznetsova, Russian (Soviet) palaeontologist and ostracod authority.

Note on publication date

In the former USSR not the actual publication date was noted in books and journals, but the date of handing the manuscript to the printer. In the case of Kuznetsova’s work (1957) the date of printer’s receipt of the manuscript was 27 November, 1956 and obligatory copies of the serial were received by public libraries of the then USSR (now Russia) in 1957. Efforts to reveal the actual publication date showed that neither the publishing records of the Azerbaijan typography “Krasnyj Vostok” were preserved, nor the publishing archive of the former republican Azerbaijan Book Chamber, regional governmental authority for obligatory bibliographic registration of all newly published print materials (immediately after their publication) in the former Azerbaijan SSR, which has been dismissed in 1980s. In this context, dates of state bibliographic registration (which is the same date as start of distribution to 45 public and scientific libraries in the former USSR) of the publication in question was extracted from the print archive of the Russian Book Chamber that served as an All-union (federal) governmental authority for obligatory bibliographic registration of all newly published print materials (immediately after their publication) in the former Soviet Union: 24 January, 1957 (Record of State registration # 26, 57-1511). Thus the publication of the serial volume with title year 1956 was delayed.
