Brasilaxia morretesi Théry, 1935 by original designation.

The monotypic genus lacks taxonomic problems. The type species was synonymised with Anthaxia costifera Obenberger, 1913 by Cobos (1956). A further two species described in the genus Brasilaxia ( Brasilaxia jacobi Obenberger, 1958 and Brasilaxia olavei Obenberger, 1958) were removed from Brasilaxia and synonymised by Cobos (1972) with Anthaxia (Cylindrophora) mariae ( Brasilaxia jacobi ) - see above, and with Curis oyarcei Germain & Kerremans, 1906 ( Brasilaxia olavei -currently Ctenoderus oyarcei in Curidini ).
