Diagnosis.
Prothorax. Pronotum with complete lateral carina (Fig. 105), reaching from hind angle to anterior edge of prothorax (displaced ventrad in some). Legs. Tarsal claws with or without basal point on each side. Also. Scutellum with anterior edge abruptly emarginate; tarsal claws with basal setae (Fig. 106, possibly absent in some); bursa copulatrix with proximal sclerites elongate-ovoid (Fig. 107). In type species ( Tropidiplus tellinii ) urosternite 7 has multiple longitudinal grooves and second longitudinal carina near lateral edge. Known from Eritrea, Ethiopia, Mozambique, and Kenya, 4 spp.
