HOLOTYPE: AMNH 48206 About AMNH , adult male, collected at San Jose´ , 09.59N, 84.04W (Times Atlas), Costa Rica, on 14 September 1889, by C.F. Underwood (no. 410). GoogleMaps

COMMENTS: The AMNH number of the holotype was given in the original description and the range was said to be southern Mexico, Central America , and south to Colombia (Bogota) and probably to Ecuador. Paratypes are the following specimens collected or cataloged before the 29 September 1891 publication date of costaricensis: AMNH 35370–35374 About AMNH , unsexed and undated Bogota, Colombia, specimens purchased from J.M. Southwick and cataloged 12 April 1889 ; AMNH 48203 About AMNH , male, 31 May 1889 ; AMNH 48204 About AMNH , male immature, 31 March 1889 ; AMNH 48205 About AMNH , female, 14 September 1889, the last three specimens collected at San Jose´ , Costa Rica, by C.F. Underwood, and cataloged 22 April 1890 .
