COMMENTS: Chapman gave the AMNH number of the holotype in the original description. The type series included five specimens from Cali and one from Honda , Tolima ; other specimens mentioned were not included in columbiana . The five paratypes are: within 20 mi of Honda , Tolima, AMNH 95121 About AMNH , sex?, 24 January 1907 ; Cali, Cauca, AMNH 108445 About AMNH and AMNH 108447 About AMNH , males, 27 December 1910 ; AMNH 108448 About AMNH , female, 2 December 1910 ; AMNH 109219 About AMNH , sex?, 8 May 1911. AMNH 108447 About AMNH was exchanged to USNM .
Most recent authors have included the species humeralis in the genus Ammodramus ; Dickinson (2003: 785) recognized the genus Myospiza without comment.
