Spadix 13–14 cm long, homogeneous, gray-brown, conical, stipe 1–6 mm long, bisexual flowers, main spiral with 5–6 flowers; alternate spiral 7–8 flowers, green berries, 2 seeds.

Distribution: — Anthurium comtum is endemic to Brazil, occurring in Bahia, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Paraná ( Flora do Brasil 2020). It was found at the Matipó trail (northern PESB) and this is the first record of the species for this Park.

Ecology and phenology: —Typical species for Ombrophylous Forests, flowering throughout the year, with berries between November to April (Almeida et al. 2005; Coelho et al. 2009). In the PESB it was found with flowers in July. Also, it can be pointed out as rare for the Park, since only one individual was found, deep in the forest, in a fallen tree near a small stream.

Taxonomic notes: —Can be distinguished from other Anthurium species found in the PESB by its strongly discolorous leaf blade and its deciduous spathe.

Specimens examined: — BRAZIL. Parque Estadual da Serra do Brigadeiro, Minas Gerais: Pedra Bonita, Trilha Matipó , 4 Jul. 2019, fl., J . K . Hammes et al. 233 ( UNOP!) .
