Distribution. Chile: Región de Valparaíso (Brèthes 1913).
Comments. Brèthes (1913a: 310–311) described the species Archoprotus porteri Brèthes, 1913 based on a female specimen. In a different publication with the same date, Brèthes (1913b: 239) described again the same taxon based on the same female type specimens. Townes & Townes (1966: 153) acted as the first reviewer in determining that Brèthes (1913a) takes the precedence (ICZN 1999: article 24.2.2).
