Comments. This is a nomen novum for Ichneumon ( Cryptus) spledidus Spinola, 1851 , which has been identified as a primary homonym of Ichneumon splendidus Fabricius, 1794 (currently not an Ichneumonidae ) by Townes & Townes (1966).
