Type Locality: Brazil, Tocantins State, 33 km SW Formoso do Araguaia, Rancho Beira Rio; 11º47′S, 49º45′W. GoogleMaps
Vernacular Names: Tocantins Laucha.
Distribution: Cerrado habitat, states of Mato Grosso and Tocantins, C Brazil.
Discussion: A large species, similar in size to C. callosus and C. expulsus but morphometrically and karyotypically (2n = 46, FN = 66) well differentiated from those species and from C. tener ( Bonvicino et al., 2003 c) . The new form was first detected based on its distinctive karyotype ( Lima and Kasahara, 2001).
